Istanbul Public Transport Fares
One ride with an İstanbulkart costs ₺46.20 (student ₺22.55). Metro, tram, bus and funicular share one tariff; Metrobüs and Marmaray are priced by distance, ferries by line. In force since 20 July 2026 — İBB Council decision no. 813 of 17 July 2026 (+10%).

Transfers
Transfers within 120 minutes of the first tap are discounted in steps. No discount when transferring onto the Metrobüs, but there is one when transferring off it; transfers onto a ferry get 50% off.

İBB Council decision no. 813 of 17 July 2026 (+10%): full ₺42.00 → ₺46.20, student ₺20.50 → ₺22.55, Mavi Kart ₺3,298 → ₺3,628. The previous tariff had applied since 16 February 2026 (+20% (UKOME)).

How do transfers work?
Within 120 minutes of your first tap the second ride costs ₺34.40, the third ₺26.42 and further rides ₺17.18 (full fare). No discount when transferring onto the Metrobüs; there is one when leaving it. Transfers onto a ferry are 50% off.
Is there a tourist card or day pass?
No day pass. Buy an anonymous İstanbulkart (₺165) at any Biletmatik machine or kiosk, load credit and tap in; it works on every metro, tram, bus, Metrobüs and ferry. Without a card you can buy limited-use tickets: one ride ₺65.00, ten rides ₺530.

İBB Council decision no. 813 of 17 July 2026 — in force since 20 July 2026. The previous increase was on 16 February 2026 (+20%, full fare ₺42.00 → ₺46.20).
How much is the İstanbulkart itself?
